The Director of Enterprise Analytics Enablement & Operations will be responsible for leading and developing multiple areas within the Enterprise analytics team which sits within the Department of Informatics & Analytics. This senior-level position will require strong leadership skills, ability to drive strategic initiatives related to data governance, knowledge management, data and analytics literacy, technical design and analytics infrastructure, and program operations. The successful candidate will manage and grow a team of 10+ FTE, which can include other people managers and individual contributors, and work closely with client relationship leaders within enterprise analytics, as well as cross functional teams in Informatics & Analytics like Enterprise Data Services, to ensure the effective functioning of the Enterprise Analytics Team and the enablement of a data driven culture at DFCI.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role are in the following areas
- Analytics Infrastructure, Technical Design and Process Management:
- Lead team managing the BI and analytics infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Establish and drive adoption of processes and best practices for technical design, enabling scalability and adopting FAIR principles
- Collaborate closely with the enterprise data services team and other functional teams in Informatics & Analytics to align on data architecture strategies and analytics tools
- Knowledge Management (aka Analytics Asset Management) and Data Governance:
- Lead and grow team developing and implementing an analytic asset management system and process to organize and make analytic assets easily findable, and accessible to anyone who needs them.
- Define and establish data governance program--processes, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with the manager of knowledge management and data governance, stakeholders, and client relationship leaders to drive effective adoption and adherence to data governance practices.
- Analytics Education and Training:
- Build team to develop and deliver educational programs and training initiatives to enhance data literacy and promote effective data utilization throughout the institute.
- Develop mechanisms & programs for providing guidance and support to employees on basic data concepts, analytical tools, and techniques for informed decision-making.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by promoting awareness and understanding of data's value across the organization.
- Program Management & Operations:
- Provide leadership and direction to the program team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
- Collaborate with the program manager to ensure successful planning, execution, adoption, and monitoring of key initiatives and day to day program operations
- Provide forward and innovative thinking on program management approaches and processes for a scalable enterprise Business Intelligence function
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics) is required. A master's degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles, with 7+ in a biomedical or healthcare setting preferred.
- 7+ years of direct people management and leadership experience in a business intelligence and analytics team with a focus on the following areas preferred: managing technical infrastructure, data architecture, implementing data governance practices, data literacy and program management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Technical
- Excellent understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and best practices in data design and architecture.
- Strong expertise in Tableau, SQL, cloud platforms like Snowflake and MS Azure preferred
- Excellent understanding of the concepts and process of designing compelling analytics education and training programs for the business
People Management
- Proficient in guiding and supporting career development and performance management, and in developing new managers/leaders.
- Proven experience in leading and developing high performing teams
